A tiered tracker for the schools you're applying to, with deadlines that follow the application round you pick.

The catalog

141 US institutions ship built in, the Ivies, the highly selective privates, the top liberal arts colleges, and the public flagships. Each carries its acceptance rate, state, and the rounds it actually offers.

Every university in the world

Behind the curated catalog sits a second tier of 10,237 institutions across 201 countries, so Oxford, Tsinghua, UBC and the University of Nairobi are all findable. It is sourced from Hipo/university-domains-list (MIT licensed), reduced to name and country.

• Curated results rank first, because only they can populate a deadline and an acceptance rate. Worldwide results are labelled and come with no preset dates.
• The list is searched through a Server Function and never sent to your browser: 400KB of university names is a poor trade for a search box.
• Matching is accent-insensitive and understands acronyms, so MIT, UCLA, ETH, IIT Bombay and Munchen all resolve. An exact acronym outranks a substring, so MIT is not buried under Mitchell.
• Anything not in either tier can still be typed in free-hand. You set the deadlines yourself.

Tiers

This is a starting point derived from acceptance rate alone. It knows nothing about your grades, and you can override it. Acceptance rate is a poor proxy for your odds at any specific school.

Rounds and deadlines

Changing the round updates the deadline automatically from the catalog. Supported rounds:

• ED: Early Decision, binding
• ED2: a second binding round, usually in January
• EA: Early Action, non-binding
• REA: Restrictive/Single-Choice Early Action
• RD: Regular Decision
• Rolling: no fixed date

Only the rounds a given school actually offers appear in its dropdown.

Status

Researching → In progress → Submitted → Accepted / Waitlisted / Denied. Moving a school to a submitted state for the first time awards 120 XP, once per school, and unlocks the prompt to report an admission.

Logos

Each school renders a deterministic crest built from its name, same school, same colours and monogram every time, so the list is scannable by shape. Real logos are not fetched from a third-party logo API by default, because that would leak which universities you're considering to another company. Self-hosted logos can be enabled with NEXT_PUBLIC_LOGO_BASE; the crest remains the fallback.
