What Fledgy does

A plain description of the product and what it is useful for, so you can decide whether it is worth your time. No pitch.

Fledgy is personalized college counseling. A student tells us where they are aiming, is paired with a counselor who has taken students there, and the two work together in one private terminal: the college list with the odds stated, the essays with every draft kept, activities, recommenders, testing, aid and documents, on one calendar.

Schools license the counselor side of the same terminal, the console, so a counseling office sees every student’s readiness, risk and next action in September rather than December.

The problem it addresses

A university application is not one task. It is a couple of hundred small ones spread over three years: shortlisting colleges, tracking which round each one uses and when it closes, building an activities list, drafting essays, asking for letters early enough that people say yes, and filing aid forms with their own separate deadlines.

None of it is difficult on its own. It goes wrong because it is scattered, and because the parts that matter most happen years before anyone tells you they mattered. Fledgy keeps that list in one place, so the time you get with a counselor goes to advice rather than to reconstructing what is due.

The second problem is who gets help. A private counselor who has taken students through this costs thousands of dollars and works from a forwarded PDF. Fledgy pairs a student with a counselor by their goals and puts the two in the same terminal, so the counselor sees the work as it stands rather than a summary of it.

• One place for the whole application. College list with real per-round deadlines, essays, activities, recommenders, aid and documents, instead of a notes app and six browser tabs.
• What is due next, calculated. Deadlines from your own list merged with the opportunities you saved, ordered by date rather than by when you happened to add them.
• Things to apply to that you would not have found. 446 real competitions, summer programs, research placements and scholarships, filtered to what you say you want to study.
• Format rules enforced while you write. Common App character limits, slot counts, word counts, so nothing has to be cut down the night before.

What it does not do

• It does not submit anything to a university. No connection to the Common App, UCAS, College Board or any institution. You file on the official systems.
• It does not write your essays. The draft checker counts words and flags clichés; it does not generate text, and there is no AI inference in the product.
• It does not improve your odds by existing. It removes the failures that come from disorganisation. It cannot do anything about the rest.

Cost

Students buy personalized counseling: they are paired with a counselor by their goals, and the terminal is the workspace the two share. Schools license the counselor-side console for their own counseling office. Premium is cosmetic. See Pricing, which also explains why that says “for now” rather than “forever”.
